This Bourbon Barrel-Aged Barleywine with Coffee and Cacao is all about blending big, bold yet complementary flavors. The rich, caramel and toffee-laden flavors of the barleywine are enhanced by the burnt sugar, vanilla, bourbon, and oakiness of the barrel. The addition of coffee and cacao further enhances these rich flavors while adding roundness to an ale that received prolonged aging in bourbon barrels.
